I wanted to let you know that the article in the paper and in the online version are untrue.  We have not lost the battle. It wages on with this legislative session.  As you know we are collecting signatures on our petition that the legislators asked for so they can leverage their conversation with others.  The legislators agree with us and will be working to get a new environmental review required for this roundabout.  Pierce County has given their lobbyist a directive to work toward that goal as well.  So with the legislators and Pierce County working with us, this is anything but dead!  I am disappointed in the paper and the reporter that we were not accurately represented even though I sent her documentation on what WSDOT is using to make this roundabout decision and how erroneous it is.  She did not look at anything I provided that would challenge WSDOT.  She just printed everything they said.  It’s what they didn’t say that proves it wrong.  They say only half truths.  The whole truth would reveal how wrong it is.

At 11:23 PM on 17 August a white car stopped in front of Wayne Flood’s home. Three or four people got out of the car and tipped the trash bins there into the street. They then reentered the car and proceeded north on 136 Ave. E. It appears they turned into Shawnee Ridge. It is unknown what possessed these people to do this mindless act. If you recognize the car and/or know of three or four people who got home in the early hours of 18 Aug, it would be nice to let them know that this is not acceptable action for civilized individuals. Below are pictures of the event. The last two pictures are blow ups of the individuals getting out of the car at times 23:23:23 and 23:23:24.

Working in the yard I observed this small vehicle paused on 136th Ave East and taking notes for 2 or 3 minutes.  The car then drove north out of sight.  A few minutes later the same vehicle drove out of the neighborhood slowly and suspiciously.  We will be watching.

There has been at least one sheriff car by their driveway on vigil for 24/7 since the accident, I believe they will be there for a few more days. We have spoken to the officers on duty and took coffee etc. My daughter, on Shawnee, saw on Facebook where you can donate to help the family. Cooper’s wife has a 3 yr old son, and she is expecting a baby girl in less than 2 weeks.

Early this last Saturday morning, the 21st of December, Officer Cooper Dyson died tragically while on duty. Cooper’s parents, Brad and Casey Dyson live on our street, 136th Ave E. Friends of their family are asking neighbors of the Dyson family to show support by replacing their porch light with a blue light. Blue is associated with the law enforcement profession. Lowe’s, Home Depot, and McLendon’s have  donated blue bulbs and many neighbors were contacted today. If you weren’t reached, there are extra bulbs at the home of the Floods, 11722 136th Ave. E.  Feel free to drop by, holiday or not. It is an important way for us to demonstrate support for a valued family of the neighborhood and community.
