Pierce County has been researching our request for a stop sign at Shawnee Rd, where it intersects with 136th Ave. E.   At our recent neighborhood meeting several people expressed their concern about the lack of safety at the intersection.  Today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, three traffic counters were installed.  Two of the counters are on 136th and a third counter is on Shawnee near the entrance to the development. The person who installed the counters told me that they would measure the traffic to see if the intersection warranted a stop sign.  The installer said the counters would only be on the street until  this Friday, assuming the counters work as planned.  So, if you want to see them I encourage you to drive by this week!

Sunrise Terrace Architectural Control Committee

I saw a new buck last month. The the deer in the lead is the one with the wide spread of antlers that I’ve seen frequently, but the second one was a spike buck I’ve never seen before. This is a picture from the camera which looks up 117th. They were out early that night. Previously I have been seeing them from around midnight to 0200hrs although lately I have been seeing them between 2000hrs and 2100hrs when they walk up my driveway headed for the Helmers’ apple trees or the Hurst’s bushes.

This is the brother (I think) of the deer in the picture below. Notice the wider spread of his antlers.

You may see this fellow and his brother walking around the Neighborhood. He and his brother like to visit The Helmers’ apple trees at night.
