It is almost the 4th of July and we have not had any rain to speak of in weeks. Things are very dry folks. That means when people set off fireworks, their chances of starting a wildfire are very good.
It would be a good idea this 4th if people in our Neighborhood kept a hose ready in case a stray spark landed near their house.
We usually do a gathering with big fireworks and we are going to forego that this year. Instead I will be getting some goofy “kid”fireworks but nothing that shoots in the air or leaves a 3 ft radius. A reminder also -if a firework you shoot off burns another persons house down, your homeowners insurance will be paying for it. Also the fire department will charge you as well.
Indeed. We should all be alert to the danger of a wildfire from outside our neighborhood. Accidential or otherwise fire likes to climb hills like ours.
Excellent advice! Or perhaps people might be willing to forgoe the fireworks this year!
