  1. Very brief outages today (02 Aug 2014) to install web statistics module. This module needed to research attacks against the N54L server and to track visitor activity to the snapshot repository and neighbornood BLOG.

  2. Things are noteworthy in the Neighborhood because we haven’t had any problems lately. Al Manning and I are doing some maintenance on the cameras. We had to remove and repair the camera at the corner of 118th St. E. and 136 Ave E. We hope to have it up again before 18 July.

  3. In my original post I forgot to include my phone number 253-840-0411 or the e-mail address I use for general distribution, which is : kahall@hotmail.com. If anyone who is not on our Alert Notification list wishes to be included. Please send me and e-mail to the above address asking to be included on the Alert Notification list. Please include your name, phone number and address at a minimum. You will get an answering e-mail from my Comcast account.

One final thing, if you have a reply to an Alert Notification and the reply is meant just for me, please don’t hit “Reply All” as this sends the e-mail to everyone. I know that most of you do not do this, but some slip up and do it much too frequently.

  4. Due to recent activity reported to me about a neighborhood break-in on 22 May 2014 I elected to implement this “BLOG” before approval of the Sunrise Terrance Committee.

Anyone can leave a “comment” in the BLOG of activities that others in the neighborhood may want to know about.

  5. I hope that this Blog takes off.

I send out Alert e-mails to everyone I have addresses for, who have expressed interest in receiving them. This includes people who are not served directly by our Neighborhood Camera System, but are interested in what is going on in our area. Right now things are fairly quiet since the last break in where the home of Kevin and Misty Bulley (13702 123rd Street E) was burglarized Thursday night (5/22/14) while the Bulley’s were sleeping. A computer, I-pod, and purse were taken. They gained access by removing a window screen and entering through a window left partially open.

I sent out a notification as soon as I learned of the burglary. Unfortunately no one captured the burglary on camera. We need more cameras, for ourselves and for our neighbor’s protection. Sometimes the information gathered by a neighbor’s camera can be the difference in a lost cause and a quickly identified burglar.
